AI robot

AI robotFrom selection to operation of robots that interact with people and work in the field.

An AI robot is a robot that captures its surroundings with a camera and microphone, makes decisions using AI, and moves its body to interact with people and objects. EmplifAI develops its own humanoid OpenShell and provides and supports the introduction of domestic and foreign machines, even working on actual operations at stores, events, and facilities.

WHAT IS

What is an AI robot?

AI robot is a general term for robots that combine AI recognition and judgment with an actual moving body. Unlike generative AI, which is completed on a screen, it captures the real situation with a camera, microphone, and distance sensor, and uses its arms, wheels, and legs to interact with people and objects. This area of ``AI with a physical body'' is called physical AI, and its development has progressed rapidly in recent years.

While conventional industrial robots repeat predetermined movements in a predetermined position, AI robots can change their movements in response to changes in a person's position, facial expressions, and surroundings. For this reason, it is being introduced not only in factories but also in stores and facilities where customers visit, as well as event venues where conditions change every time.

On the other hand, AI robots are not products that produce results just by being installed. It is necessary to specifically decide on the work you want to be entrusted with, select the appropriate machine and software, and adjust the operation while testing it on site. EmplifAI supports this process from providing the robot to operating development and on-site verification.

TYPES

Main types of AI robots

Even though we say "AI robots" in a nutshell, the types of robots are different, and the tasks they are good at are also different. The basic idea is to work backwards and select the job you want to delegate.

01

humanoid (humanoid)

It has two arms and a height similar to that of a human, and is characterized by its ability to move in an environment designed for humans. It is used both for standing next to people to serve customers and provide guidance, and for research and development to learn people's tasks.

02

Dual arm mobile manipulator

It has a configuration that combines dual arms and a trolley, allowing it to handle objects while moving. It can be operated more stably than the leg type, and is suitable for sites where transportation and work are carried out continuously. OpenShell also has this configuration.

03

quadrupedal robot

It is resistant to steps and uneven ground, and is suitable for outdoor patrols and inspections, as well as patrolling large facilities. It is commonly used to carry LiDAR or a camera and move while recording the situation.

04

robot arm/hand

This configuration allows you to concentrate on manipulating objects in a fixed location without moving. It is used for research and development, data collection, and verification of detailed grasping movements.

05

Customer service/guidance robot

This is a configuration specialized for conveying information through screen and audio. Adding a face or expression makes it easier for people to talk to you, which changes the delivery rate of your guidance.

06

character robot

The appearance, voice, and gestures are designed to match the worldview of the IP and facility. They differ greatly from work robots in that their purpose is to attract customers and provide experiential value.

USE CASES

Scenes in which AI robots are used

Even for the same robot, the required movements and evaluation indicators will change depending on where it is placed. We have summarized the ideas for each application.

Factory/manufacturing site

Transport, picking, jig setting, equipment operation. From robot verification to automation of processes that lack manpower.

Store/Retail

Guiding customers, inviting them to the store, and creating topics. This is a way to aim for length of stay and spread on SNS.

commercial facility

In-house guidance, floor guidance, and direction during events. Encourages people to roam around the spacious facility.

Amusement facilities

Experience content at game centers and theme parks. Create motivation for repeat visits.

Events/special events

Measures to attract customers for a limited time. With short-term rental, we will prepare a performance that matches your project.

Exhibitions/Trade Fairs

Measures to increase visits to the booth. It will draw a crowd and help you get business cards.

Hotels/Accommodations

Congested check-in, in-house guidance, late-night support. Supports times when the load is uneven.

ROBOTS

AI robots we handle

In addition to the self-developed OpenShell, we also sell and rent domestic and international humanoid and quadruped robots.

OpenShell

Our own humanoid with a head with facial expressions, dual arms, and a trolley. The 28-axis configuration can be expanded to suit your needs.

Unitree G1

Small humanoid rental. This is the robot most often used for exhibitions, demonstrations, and research and development.

Unitree H2 / H2 Plus

Life-sized humanoid rental. Suitable for exhibitions that require a strong presence or for verification using large machines.

Unitree R1

A small humanoid with a height of approximately 123cm and 26 degrees of freedom. Both sales and rentals are available.

Unitree Go2

Quadrupedal robot. Equipped with LiDAR and a camera, it is used for patrolling and outdoor verification.

AgiBot G2

A semi-humanoid with dual arms and a movement mechanism. This configuration is designed for object manipulation in industrial applications.

PROCESS

How to proceed with AI robot introduction

You can consult with us even before the specifications are finalized. We recommend that you first look at the robot and make your own decision.

01 Organizing the usage
Specify what you want to do, where, and to whom. The robot you choose will depend on whether you are attracting customers or replacing work.
02 robot selection
We propose a configuration that is just right for the purpose. Consider the required degrees of freedom, locomotion methods, interaction features, and sensors.
03 Actual demo
You can see the robot in Yushima, Tokyo. At this stage, we check the visibility, volume, and operating speed on site.
04 PoC/Demonstration
We will place it on an actual site as a short-term rental to check reactions and issues. Let's take a look at the operation here.
05 Operation development
We create guidance content, dialogue, and actions to suit the site. It is also possible to start with remote control and automate it step by step.
06 Operation/Improvement
We provide ongoing support for post-deployment adjustments, maintenance, and development of additional features.
COST

How to consider the cost of introducing AI robots

The cost is divided into ``the robot itself'' and ``development and operation to make it work.'' You can choose to purchase or rent the robot, and rental is realistic for short-term events or when testing the effects. Actual rental fees vary depending on the robot, so they are listed on each robot page.

Development costs vary greatly depending on the extent of automation. If you start with a production that is remotely controlled by staff, you can reduce initial costs and expand the scope of automation after seeing the reaction. Rather than aiming for complete automation from the beginning, this approach will result in a system that can be used in the field more quickly.

If you need a rough estimate at the consideration stage, please let us know the purpose, location, period, and number of units, and we will provide you with an estimate along with a proposed configuration.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AI robot and robot?

Conventional robots are good at accurately repeating predetermined movements. AI robots are different in that they can recognize the situation with a camera and microphone and can change their movements depending on the situation. This difference is very effective in customer service and guidance situations, where people's positions and reactions change every time.

How long can it be implemented?

If the existing robot is used as is for exhibitions or events, we can handle it from a few weeks depending on the availability of the robot. If the development of dialogue or behavior tailored to the site is involved, it is common for the project to take several months, including PoC. First, please let us know the purpose and timing.

Is it better to rent or buy?

If you are at a stage where you can't see the effects yet, have an event with a fixed period, or want to compare multiple robot, rental is the way to go. Purchasing is suitable if you plan to use it permanently, continue your own development, or modify the robot. We will make a proposal after listening to your intended use.

Do I need to prepare a power supply or network at the site?

Although it varies depending on the robot, a power source for charging and a network environment are required if you want to use remote control or interaction functions. We will check the conditions of the installation location in advance and inform you of the necessary preparations.

Can I make a decision after seeing the robot?

yes. You can see a demonstration of the robot in Yushima, Tokyo. The photos in the catalog often differ from the actual size, operating noise, and speed, so we recommend that you take a look at the product before installing it.
